I’ve had virtual training sessions with Glen for my new rescue dog Maggie. I’ve worked with him before but was not sure that a virtual session would be successful. I’m delighted, however, to find that the advice he’s been giving me is actually working. Maggie and I are making great progress now and I will definitely continue with follow-up sessions. Glen is a very knowledgeable and creative trainer with specific tried and true steps for a positive outcome. Maggie and I give our thumbs👍and paws 🐾 up!
We have been working with Glenn and Judy since July of 2019. Layla our cockapoo started with home visits at 10 weeks and shortly after progressed to basic companion and intermediate companion training. We were about to finish her intermediate classes when the pandemic arrived and life changed, as it did for so many. My husband and I reached out to Glenn and Judy to inquire about completing her training virtually. Their response was immediate and before we knew it our training was complete via Zoom. So easy. We were well prepared with questions and Glenn guided us through each one giving us multiple strategies to complete our training. Our long term goal is for Layla to become a Therapy Dog. We will continue to utilize virtual training to prepare Layla for her Canine Good Citizen Test. We can't express in words our deepest appreciation for the training we and Layla received with Glenn. We have a well mannered dog that everyone who meets her falls in love. Virtual pet training is an amazing alternative. We strongly encourage people to sign up!

We brought home a beautiful, sweet, and very smart border collie puppy, Annie, at the age of eight weeks who became a very aggressive, hard to handle four-month old almost overnight. She terrorized our four-year-old Scottish terrier, Jack, and created havoc in our household by taking out her aggression to both Jack and even us by biting and growling almost constantly. At the first sign of this, we brought in a trainer who worked with us on basic obedience, but the situation simply intensified. We were at our wits end and even got to the point that we thought that we would have to return Annie to the breeder in spite of how much we loved her and her sweet side, which surfaced every so often. But, we just felt that we could not give up – and had not given Annie every possible chance to succeed. We saw an advertisement for Judy and Glenn at our vet and also heard about them from a pet supply store in our town. I gave them a call and less than a day later we connected, and I shared with them the story of Annie and our sadness and frustration over the situation that had resulted. They agreed to take on Annie and work with us. Two months later, after a very specific program and focus, Annie is a delightful member of our family. Glenn has a very calming yet firm approach to managing aggression in dogs, with a focus on building confidence in a positive way and establishing the pack order in a way that is constructive and effective. He taught us as much as he taught Annie! We also learned to build on Annie's interest in playing ball and use it as a way to both exercise her and reward her for behaving well. I never thought that we would come through our training this well this quickly. I have to say that we went into this with the idea that we would make it work and give Annie every benefit of our time and attention, but did not really know how it would turn out. Glenn and Judy both were our partners in turning a very difficult situation into a very happy outcome. We recognize that we will forever work to build on the great success that we have with Annie, and continue to work with Glenn to build on our success together. We are now working with any on agility training which reinforces leadership, discipline and focus. At the same time it gives her physical and mental stimulation she needs to be happy. And happy she is, she smiles and wags her tails and gives hugs – something she never ever did before. My husband and I, and Annie and Jack, highly recommend their programs and teaching methods. I've had dogs before so thought I knew everything there was to know about training them. I've learned that all dogs are different and that understanding what motivates dogs and how to tap into that effectively and kindly and firmly so that dogs can be happy and is as much science as art. Glenn and Judy have that mastered!

Our dog has turned from growling at my 8-month-old son to happily playing with him because of Glenn and Judy's insights and advice. Needless to say, I am thrilled. Everything Glenn has suggested has worked. At first, I was really skeptical of calling in a behavioral consultant. Even though Kepa was exhibiting some undesirable behaviors, I didn't think behavioral conditioning was needed or would even work. At that point, I planned to put Kepa on medication. After working with Glenn and Judy, I now think differently. Training your pet solves the problem; using medication merely covers the problem up. I now recommend Glenn and Judy to all our clients.

Dear Glenn and Judy, I am writing to thank you for helping us with Ms. Maple’s puppy training. We were nervous about the online format, but Glenn’s clear and measured pace, and his kind, positive, patient, and firm model of training has really worked for us. We worked on small goals each week and it was remarkable to see Maple catch on. She learned so quickly not to nip us using the “GONE” technique. With Glenn’s guidance she was sitting, laying down, and (mostly, we’re still working on this one) coming on command. She is almost completely house trained - the rare times she has accidents we can see how we didn’t read her cues. My 12 year old said he appreciated how straightforward and easy to understand the instructions were. My 14 year old said he thinks Maple has become very well behaved (for a 4.5 month old). I personally appreciate how we were able to bring our own questions and Glenn always had a helpful recommendation and a clear way to implement it. And we all loved seeing Melvin demonstrate - More Melvin!! I know you are planning to have private sessions, but I found that semi-private sessions were “fun” and also helpful because Rafael would ask questions I hadn’t thought of, but was glad to know the answers to. As a family, we now have a simple common language, and clear expectations for our sweet dog. Thank you for sharing your up to date knowledge and evident passion for dogs with us.

We were in one of Glenn's first 'virtual' dog training classes with our Cockapoo puppy, Sadie, starting when she was 10 weeks old. We were a little skeptical about how an online dog training class would go, but after meeting with Glenn once we knew we had to do the class. Glenn is incredibly knowledgeable and flexible in his approach. If something he suggested didn't work, he would always work with us to find another solution. Being able to speak with Glenn once a week, ask him all of our questions and get professional advice was invaluable. Via video, Glenn was also able to watch us execute the commands and give us feedback. I can honestly say that we finished our 6 week class with no behavioral issues or concerns, and we had many when we entered the class! I would highly recommend working with Glenn, and would encourage dog owners to give the virtual class a try. We couldn't imagine a better outcome then we got from our virtual class! Thanks, Glenn!
Glenn was recommended to us by the breeder....Our dog Molly has learned very quickly thanks to Glenn’s coaching and directions. We are delighted at the progress she’s made. Training by Zoom has been an unqualified success. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Glenn and PetDog Training.

I just wanted to give you a follow-up report from Glenn's session with Kupcake last month. We were so impressed with Glenn's knowledge and gentle demeanor. He taught both of us and Kupcake so many things in 90 minutes! What is really remarkable is how quickly Kupcake learned. She responds immediately to both "Leave it" and "Silence." By the end of a week she was sitting quietly when the cats were in the room. By the end of a month the cats had moved from disdain to distrust to curiosity and now, finally, the male cat shows some affection. They touched noses the other day as they were passing one another. They both follow their daddy around the kitchen when he is cooking in hopes of getting a little treat now and then. The female cat, who was feral and is now quite elderly, feels very comfortable with Kupcake around. She is not afraid to tell Kupcake off with a low growl and hiss if Kupcake shows interest in the food she is eating, which is the only time Kupcake tries to get near her. So we are living in the peaceable kingdom and both Peter and I are in awe of how little time and effort it took to get to this point. Thank you, Glenn! I would be more than happy to provide a reference for you anytime!
Thank you very much, Judy. Your professional opinion has meant so much to us. My family and I had a very difficult decision to make. Everything you told me on the phone is exactly what we've experienced. We were so grateful to have had your professional guidance. It gave us the knowledge we needed to make a sound decision. We truly valued your opinion and are grateful for the time you took to speak with us. Our community is very fortunate to have you and Glenn and the wonderful services you provide.
Dear Glenn, What a difference. Bonnie is so much more confident! Today we went to Appleton Farms and she played and played with other dogs and approached a quiet and understanding dog owner and sniffed her! She is so much more outgoing! I am so appreciative. What a wonderful accomplishment for this formerly shy and fearful rescue. We are so appreciative and we will be framing Bonnie’s diploma!
It was a pleasure to meet Glenn on Sunday night. We learned so much in that one visit. We are using the techniques suggested. In particular we have been enjoying being "drama queens" when Teddy doesn't follow a command - and it has really made a difference. On walks, I have been using the "look at me" and treat technique when we see other dogs, as well as singing a quiet ditty - and our walks have become very different. Not perfect - but real progress. We will keep working on what we were taught... We will definitely give your service rave reviews to our vet and others.

I want to write to tell you how grateful I am for your introductory obedience course. I had looked at some other programs and interviewed other trainers. Your course was what I knew I wanted and what I didn't know I needed: informative, practical, supportive, kind, low-stress, fun, and very successful. You welcomed me and my dog for a visit and then to the class, always taking care that he and the other dogs were safe and having fun. You helped us communicate better and by the end of the class not only had we learned basic commands, but other classmates commented on how much Rocky had improved in his comfort with other dogs. I want to mention that I also work as a behavior therapist in my day-job. I love the way you are able to break down complicated behavior principles into everyday examples and strategies. As someone trained in behavior intervention, I still felt overwhelmed with where to start with Rocky. You coach your human students to be more successful dog caregivers and clearly love watching people and dogs learn together. You have truly given Rocky and me a strong, healthy, happy foundation. Thank you sincerely.
My husband and I adopted a shelter dog with known dog reactivity issues. We wanted to get a start on this as soon as possible before shelter habits got set. We talked to and visited several dog trainers & facilities and were not satisfied. Our vet recommended Glenn and Judy very highly as effective and non-aversive trainers/behaviorists. Glenn came to visit at our house and met Ginger. He left us with some homework and a date for a structured walk. We continued these structured walks, about every 3 weeks for a few months. Glenn guided us to a program of desensitization and counter-conditioning for Ginger’s dog reactivity. He also provided a foundation for good behavior and obedience that helped us build a good relationship with Ginger and build her trust in us. Now, 6 months and 8 appointments later, we have a great, happy dog who is well mannered. She is not totally relaxed with other dogs, but manageable and safe. She can be let loose at the beach and at dog parks without wandering off or any mishaps. A walk down a crowded street (with dogs) is a pleasure. Glenn and Judy believe and practice a completely positive, no punishment approach to dog training. It works and I believe works better that punishment/painful stimulation in the short and long term. Ginger is not afraid of us, she wants to be with us. If we call her, she comes to us. The real secret is Glenn and Judy don’t train dogs at all – although they can. They train dog owners to train their dogs to be good pet parents. I cannot recommend them enough!
I wanted to write and let you know that I lost my old dog Buddy yesterday. He was a border collie who came to me terribly fear reactive. We came to your puppy class, and you gave him tuna fish from your own sandwich to help make him comfortable. Over the years he went from terrified of strangers to gently hopeful that they would give him a treat. Your patience and advice helped me give him a life without fear. In the last few years, it was hard for me to remember that he wasn't a normal, happy dog. Thursday he had a good day, and though I rarely make tuna fish, I made a batch and fed him some from my fingers. Friday he let me know that he was ready to go by refusing to take any more. Thanks for your help with him.
Alan & I (and Abby!) want to thank you for all you did for us on Saturday. It was a bit scary bringing home a new dog & not really knowing what to do. We are very appreciative of all of your great advice, tips, knowledge & encouragement Glenn, & for coming out to help us on a holiday weekend. The harness we purchased from you has worked wonders. We have ordered a collar embroidered with Abby's name & our phone #, and read the little booklet we purchased cover to cover. We thank you for starting us off on the right foot. We have had a great 3 days - no accidents, sleeping through the night, learning her commands, minding well, settling into a schedule.... We now look forward to our training class with you.

I wanted to let you know how great I thought your class was… Thanks to your classes I am much more comfortable “reading” Buster's behavior especially around other dogs. Buster is so sociable and had I not taken your class I would have avoided every dog that came across our path.
Have (been) singing your praises all weekend! We went to a wedding on the vineyard and brought Cosmo: shuttle buses, ferry, cabs, hotel rooms, 10 children, walks in Oak Bluffs etc....Cosmo was AMAZING- we attempted to consistently incorporate your recs and he shined. More compliments on his behavior from family and strangers than you can imagine. Thank you.
I cannot express enough the high regard I have for Glenn and his teaching abilities; not only for the dogs, but for their owners as well! Glenn’s ability to explain and demonstrate training methods in easy to understand terms is a trait I find many trainers lacking. After all, we are alone at home with our dogs once class has ended! After taking both the basic obedience class, and then the AKC canine good citizen prep course, I am very pleased with my experience. My dog Eloise is a 1.5 year old rescue from Texas with no prior training. When she arrived, her personality was understandably not the same as described by the rescue she came from, due to the stress of relocating. I turned to Glenn for help based on the recommendation of a relative who has seen his work with shelter dogs. Ellie has transformed over the course of just a couple months from an extremely fearful, reactive basset hound mix, to a pleasant, gregarious young dog. She now has confidence when she goes out for walks, to new places, and when meeting new people and dogs. I never thought when she first arrived that I would be able to walk her around the block, never mind go play at the dog park, and I am happy to report that Glenn has helped make that possible. I highly recommend Glenn to any one that owns a dog, shelter rescue or not, serious behavioral issues or just for obedience 101. Thank you Glenn!
Shayna and I have had a great time in class and there is already a big difference in my relationship with her. She is responding to my new confidence and we get compliments on walks and at the dog park on her behavior all the time. A couple new behaviors that I've seen since we started class are her coming back to my side on her own when she gets overwhelmed and also following me around the dog park wanting to play (she usually just does her own thing until I call her.) Best of all, she has started sleeping by my pillow every night this week - she knows I'm not frustrated with her anymore.
Becoming a dog owner for the 5th time it would be easy to think, I can do this I have done it before, raising a dog. But this time I am so glad I also thought, hmm I want to get it right. I had an at home session with Glenn when Samara was 3 1/2 months old that was such a help to me and that is where the problem lay too, it was me. The dog training course was great also, it gave me such help and advice and group discussion was also very helpful. The socializing and the basic training gives me now the confidence to continue.
I called Pet Dog Training because our dog bit me several times. Andy is an almost seven-year-old Pekingese who belonged to my partner and her blind, autistic daughter for five years before meeting me. As the new kid on the block and a first-time pet owner as well, I thought it must be my fault. I was embarrassed and ashamed until I finally got the courage to make an inquiry. Judy Goldman took my call and provided instant and much-needed validation. We set up an appointment with Glenn Goldman and completed extensive questionnaires before our first meeting. Glenn arrived right on time and was filled with wisdom, compassion, kindness, and humor. His lessons flowed with practical, easy to manage concepts that have enriched my relationship with Andy and my life in general. I have gone from spoiling Andy so that he became a bully I feared to becoming more assertive and witnessing Andy develop a trusted bond with me. I am truly grateful.
We are so thankful to Glenn for teaching us how to help Abby learn self control. The transformation is amazing. Abby is no longer like a wild animal charging for her food. She is very well-behaved and patient.
Just wanted to send our thanks and give you a quick update on Silver, our Siberian Husky, which Glenn had worked with several months back for issues with resource guarding / resource aggression. Following Glenn's instructions, we have worked diligently with Silver and he has shown remarkable progress. We have now moved to London and Silver is doing better than ever. He still shows some signs of resource guarding, but here are some examples of his progress: *Before we moved, we were able to have our neighbors dog(s) in the yard, with Silver's toys around. The other dogs were able to sniff the toys when Silver was not playing with them and Silver did not make any moves to react. Previously, we had to pick up the toys if other dogs were going to be in our yard. He would growl fiercely if they even got near them. *Since Thanksgiving, my young nephews, including a 2 year old, have been able to pick up Silver's tennis balls and footballs and throw them to him in the yard. No growling! *Jim and I are able to fairly easily take any of his toys away from him while he is playing with them...he actually wants to interact with us now. He will sometimes growl or put his paw over the toy, but he also freely allows us to take it and will even bring it over to me and play nearby, as if inviting me to interact. *Yesterday, in the park, another dog approached him while Silver was standing next to his water dish... he looked a little protective, but he didn't growl or become aggressive towards the other dogs. Later, we had him tethered to a tree while we were working out nearby. Another dog approached him while Silver had a tennis ball in his mouth. Silver did not growl and the other dog was called away by his owner before he could get right up to him, but this was another sign of progress, even letting the dog approach him. *He will "stay" or "leave it" on command and wait for my release, even if I take his favorite treat or toy and put it on the ground. He can now do this successfully even when I am moving the desired object or if I walk away. Thank you so much for giving us the tools to work with him. We are all much happier now and we have enjoyed a much smoother move to London as a result!

I have brought my other dogs to different puppy training schools in the past. I have also had experience with a trainer because I worked at her kennel and saw how she trained. And, I have NEVER seen or been a part of a better dog training school! Glenn and Judy are fantastic! My chihuahua was very timid and frightened at the first class and now she has so much confidence that it's like I have a new puppy. The things I have learned in class have given me the tools to not only make her more behaved, but she now feels even safer with me as her owner knowing that I am in control and will protect her. Seriously, if you want a great way to learn how to train your puppy or dog, you have to try these classes! They are wonderful! Thank you Glenn and Judy! PS: I will have to comment again later because I have soooo much more to say. :)
Glenn got us out of a bad situation last summer, when our puppy started to become really aggressive toward our children, and also toward my husband at times. The trainer in the puppy kindergarten class was not helpful at all, very vague in her advice, so we turned to our breeder, who highly recommended Glenn and Judy. Glenn and Judy responded to our SOS, and we got together within a few days, which was a huge relief. What Glenn taught us made sense, and although some of it was really hard to do (e.g. we had to kick our beloved puppy out of the “pack”), we saw almost instant improvement. It was touch and go though for a while. We didn’t know if we could really keep our puppy or not, but thanks to the techniques we learned, she turned around. We now have a normal family life with dog! Glenn and Judy also kept checking in with us over the weeks and months to see how we were doing. Unfortunately we live too far away to come to their classes, otherwise we would attend them all. Thank you so much, Glenn. You are GREAT at what you are doing! Should we come to a point where we need help from the best again, we are happy to know where to find you!
We rescued Bella from Cape Ann Animal Aid and she was a very frightened and insecure dog. We took her to Petdog Training. Glenn and Judy's insight and interesting and informative training program was not only fun for Bella and us but also helped Bella become a happy and confident dog.

In April of 2008 our family rescued a miniature schnauzer/terrier mix named Cassy. When she arrived at our home, she was recovering from the trauma of being re homed several times. Her first owner crated her for the majority of her day and also abused her. Soon she developed cage rage and was surrendered to a shelter. From there, things went downhill for Cassy. She went through 2 shelters, and at one of them nearly severed one of her hind legs in a panic of cage rage. She then was adopted but was soon surrendered to a rescue and placed in a foster home. It was from the foster home we adopted her. She was only 1 year old, weighed 10 pounds, had crystals in her urine, mange on her muzzle and was completely unsocialized and insecure. And, so our work began. An important part of that work was our weekly obedience class with Glenn Goldman. Glenn's calm demeanor, confidence and knowledge taught us how to help Cassy become the best dog she can be. He was very thoughtful in helping us face the myriad of issues presented by a damaged dog and always had the time and compassion to answer our questions and work out solutions to problems. Glenn helped us in every area of Cassy's life, from obedience and manners to nutrition. As a result of Glenn's help, Cassy is well on the road to being all she can be. She has been with us for only 6 months, and is already 17 pounds, free of the mange and urinary crystals and has a coat that is thick and shiny. We work every day on her obedience and manners, using the techniques we learned in class. She is becoming more and more reliable and this week was able to enjoy her first off leash run on the beach, where she plunged into the surf with total abandon. Her joy was absolutely infectious, people on the beach all stopped to watch this ecstatic terrier romping in the surf. Everyone who watched her could not help but smile. As for me, I had tears of joy watching her and knowing how far she had come and what a wonderful gift we had been given when we adopted her. Soon, we will move on to the next step in obedience training and have set a goal of having Cassy receive her Canine Good Citizen Certificate and eventually have her registered as a pet therapy dog. You see, she has a four-year old, 5 pound big sister named Misty who has already achieved those goals. Cassy will not be outdone by a five pound poodle!!

Glenn, you reminded my Labrador, "Mr. Will Do", AKA, Willy, that he was a gentleman, you reminded me that I was not his doormat, nor his possession, although I'm not sure he got that one, and well, Oliver is just Oliver. Thank you so very much for all your help; he still looks for you at the tennis courts on the boulevard.
Very best regards, Nell, Willy and Oliver
You helped us so much with our first dog (that we had no clue what to do with!) Attached is a photo of Minnie, thank you again for your great teaching!

Taking your puppy to obedience class is the biggest favor you can do for your puppy and yourself. The importance of socializing your dog and teaching him what behavior is acceptable are two of the most important things I learned in Glenn and Judy's program. Having a breed that is known for having a mind of his own, the training my puppy received has made him a wonderful pet and companion who is welcome wherever we go and a joy to all who have had the "privilege" of meeting him. Thank you Judy and Glenn.

I thought my dog was hopeless until I discovered Glenn and Judy's dog training classes. Before, Pickles would jump on guests (sometimes bopping them in the face!), would refuse to come to me, and had severe potty training issues. The techniques I learned in this course truly saved my dog. Now, he's more calm around guests, always comes to me when I call him (even around other dogs!!) and NEVER has accidents in the house anymore! I am so thankful for PetDog Training.. Pickles is now the perfect companion and everybody loves him!

Having been a dog lover all my life I have tried many training methods from clicker to self help tapes. I have never found such a well rounded program as you offer. I truly enjoy going as does my family, Max has learned a lot and is showing signs of being more confident as well better at social situations. I could not expect or ask more of what you have you done. Thank you and I highly recommend your program to anyone who has a dog!
Just wanted to pass on a compliment to you both. I was out walking Nena this morning when an elderly gentleman commented, "What a good dog. I can tell by the way she walks." We were practicing our "by me" at the same time. So kudos to the two of you for your teaching techniques! Your methods obviously really work. Thank you!

We've been really happy with the progress that our puppy has made as a result of Glenn & Judy's kind, gentle, common sense training program. It has been really neat to watch Indie learn so much by being rewarded with love & attention instead of food, treats, or punishment. Glenn is amazing with the dogs--very relaxed, positive, and patient--and Judy has made herself so available to us, responding immediately to an e-mail question and even following up a few weeks later with a phone call. They're a great team, and I'm so glad we found them!
...This is a compassionate approach...Glenn & Judy truly understand just how dogs "think" & "feel"...Owners (including my own staff) return delighted, having learned a positive means to work & connect with their dogs...Two paws up!!

We got so much from your first class on Saturday. We've already put training into place and are seeing results. What a relief!
We were amazed at the progress we made after only one in-home session with Glenn. Our dog now comes when called. We had worked with another trainer without success. We are so thankful for Glenn's positive training techniques and his kind and understanding ways.

Five years ago, Maxx was an obstinate, over-sized sheepdog...with an attitude! Well, today he is an obedient, dependable happy dog; thanks to your training. I am so proud of him when I take him to the beach. I know he will come when called and stay if told to. It makes for an enjoyable and safe walk. Thanks.

With a very high-energy puppy, I found the best thing I could do was enroll in Glenn's classes. And before that, I asked him to come out to the house so I could start training properly right from the start. The combination worked well, not only for my dog, but for me. Glenn and Judy take the time and have the gentle patience to advise and teach you about the best tried-and-true methods of dog training, including alternatives, in a hands-on setting. They are genuinely happy to help both you and your dog.

We just wanted to thank you for your help with Moses. Your visit to our home was a wonderful experience.... You were so kind, and so non-judgemental! We were feeling very guilty, as well as angry/frustrated.... Your wise, gentle handling and approach to the situation were greatly appreciated. It was such a good thing to know that the balance of Moses' life could be a happier experience for both him and us! Thank you!

My husband and I bought a yellow lab full of energy 8 months ago. We enrolled in Glenn's class and it made a world of difference. Our lab now is more obedient and kid friendly. Although we have a way to go and we plan on enrolling in Glenn's advanced class, I know from what we have seen so far we will end up with a well trained, friendly dog.
